  1. Practice the following skills using your wiki page:
    • Type in your name (Heading 1), school (Heading 2), and the subjects that you teach (Heading 2).
    • Change the font color of one of the words on the page.
    • Now create a numerical list of ways that you might incorporate a wiki into your classroom in the current unit that you are teaching.
    • Take a word in your numerical list and link it to a page on the Internet that relates to this term.
    • Add an image that might represent what you are currently studying in your classroom.
    • Take any Microsoft Word Document related to your unit and add it to the page.
    • Now add a Google Map to your page relating to to what you have added to the page.
    • If your school allows you to use YouTube, add a YouTube video that relates to what you are studying.
  2. Go back to your listing of how you might use a wiki in your classroom. Change your list based upon the items that you now know how to do with a wiki.

Ideas for applications:


  1. Themed multi-media project

  2. Various levels of collaboration/written

  3. Writing practice; responding to prompts or free journal writing

  4. Collection of audio projects

  5. assemblage of assignments/directions

  6. posting of relevant resource links: a group of links for teachers, and a group of links for students

  7. web link cloud

  8. not sure...what else can they do? what are limits? What will wikis NOT do?
